ACB unearths RECS Engineer Nakka Suresh’s illegal assets

ACB officials today registered a case against Nakka Suresh, Deputy Project Engineer of Rural Electric Co-Operative Society (RECS) , Parawada and Munagapaka Sections in the district for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets over the known sources of income.

The registered value of the illegal assets seized including cash, gold, land holdings, houses and few others was put at Rs.1.2 crore, the market value would be over Rs.12 crore according to ACB sources.

DSP of ACB (Visakha Urban) Kinjarapu Ramakrishna Prasad conducted simultaneous raids at five places in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada and unearthed the illegal assets. The documents seized include three house sites worth Rs.27.5 lakh and a car and a bike in the name of the accused. The documents in the name of the official’s wife Nakka Sabitha Jyothi were a flat worth Rs.39 lakh at Gajuwaka, 1.4 acres of agricultural land worth Rs.10 lakh and two cars and a motor-cycle. A house site worth Rs.3.6 lakh at Desapatrunipalem in his friend’s name was also seized. Apart from immovable properties, the ACB also seized 397 gm gold jewellery, household’s articles, Rs.6.33 lakh cash, bank balances and deposits in chit funds all put together Rs.25 lakh.

Suresh was remanded up to June 23 by ACB court and presently in Central prison.
