APSRTC employees seek higher pension

APSRTC National Mazdoor Union has represented to Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Santosh Gangwar to upgrade higher pension by allowing them to pay the required amount.

He said that the RTC employees were getting a pension of less than Rs.2,000 since they are in lower option in the EPS 95 Pension Scheme. In a representation submitted to the Union Minister today, NMU leaders said since RTC was under exempted category, the judgements of the Supreme Court and the Kerala High Court should be made applicable to it.

It would benefit 32,000 retired and the 56,000 serving employees said its State general secretary. Honorary president of the union and MLA P.Vishnu Kumar Raju was present.
