A young man from the district was reportedly stranded in Beijing after losing his passport.

He was found sleeping at a restaurant in Beijing for the past few days without any money or mobile phone, by the Indians in China group which posted about him on Twitter on December 2. The social media site has identified the man as Salapu Shiva Kumar from Narava. The group had reportedly arranged for his food and accommodation.

‘Indian, who lost his passport, is struck in Beijing, sleeping at KFC for last some days without money and mobile number. Please provide urgent assistance to secure his exit visa and flight back home’, the group tweeted and appealed to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to intervene and arrange for his exist visa and return flight to India as he had lost his belongings along with his passport.

The Ministry of External Affairs tagged the Indian Embassy in Beijing and asked them to help Shiva. The prompt response of Swaraj on Twitter received accolades from Twitter users.
