Aja Sarma writes to Chief Minsiter on North Andhra Projects

Forum for Development of North Andhra general secretary A.Aja Sarma in a letter to the Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu urged to take up the Irrigation projects in North Andhra on war-footing by obtaining funds under the special development package announced in AP State Reorganization Act.

He said that completion of Neradi project costing would require Rs.1,000 crore following the recent judgement of tribunal, Jhanhavati project that costs Rs.500 crore and Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanti Rs.16,500 crore.

The Neradi barrage was proposed in 1978 and could store 19.05 TMC water while Jhanhavati project could make available 20 TMC of water. He said in his letter that it would facilitate linking of Champavati, Suvaramukhi and Gosthani rivers.
