Visakhapatnam
CPI all-India secretary K.Narayana ha demanded an inquiry into the land scandals in and around Visakhapatnam and up to Nakkapalli in the district.
Narayana visited some areas in Kommadi and Madhurawada said that over 2,000 acres of government land is under encroachment. He said that the CBI would not be in a position to deal with land related matters and a judicial inquiry would handle it better.
The CPI had been waging a struggle for the land sandals and the government acted now and arrested the accused Narayana. In Survey No. 37 of Kommadi, M.R.K.Raju had fenced a piece of land. The CPI identified it in 2008 but we went to protest, we were arrested. But now, a board was put up stating that the land belonged to VUDA. In Survey No.28/2 of Kommadi, which is allegedly under encroachment by some benamis, the watchman and others fled when they came to know about th visit of CPI team.
