Chandanotsavam- Jeeyars not invited for Ghatabhishekam

According to vaishnava custom, only Vaishnava Swamijis have to perform the ghatabhishekam to Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy on the eve of Sri Swamyvari Chandanotsavam.

Sri Vaishanavities with traditional dress will bring pious water from Gangadhara in 1000 kalasams. This custom comes for many years. In 2015 and 2016, Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami and in earlier two years, Tridandi Srimannarayana China Jeeyar Swamy performed ghatbhishekam.

This year, though Sri Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy was in the city to participate in Bhagavat Ramanuja Sahasrabdi functions, he was not informed or invited said sources for the conduct of the event. The priests who knows the customs of the temple informed of the same to the Executive Officer but the latter did not evince any interest, said sources.

EO Ramachandra Mohan was said to have been involved in the service of VIPs. After the darshan of hereditary trustee Ashok Gajapati Raju at 2.45am, ordinary devotees are allowed to have nijarupa darshan. No protocol or VIP darshans will be allowed and they were given time slot from 5am to 6am. But this time, the VIPs were allowed even earlier leading the devotes to face problems.
