Chandanotsavam- Police posts heavy security

A strong police force with over 2,000 police personnel were drawn from various wings will be deployed on the Simhachalam hill on the eve of annual Chandanotsavam event of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy on Friday and Saturday.

City Police Commissioner T.Yoganand said that the ‘Nijarupa’ darshan of the Lord begins in the early hours of Saturday. The first darshan of hereditary trustee of the temple P.Ashok Gajapati Raju will take place along with him Governor ESL Narasimhan and his family would also have darshan.

It is estimated that over two lakh devotees from the State and from neighbouring States are expected. The Commissioner of Police said that 20 ACPs, 60 CIS, 130 Sis, 392 ASIs, 686 constables, 139 women constables, 358 home guards and 250 armed police will be deployed. As many as 74 CC cameras had been installed and integrated with the command control room.
