Doctors Day organized at AMC

Doctors Day was organized at Andhra Medical College here on Saturday.

On this occasion, noted general practitioner C.Sadasiva Rao, former Professor of AMC G.Chittipantulu and senior journalist G.Narasimha Rao were felicitated.

AMC Principal P.V.Sudhakar presiding over the programme described Doctor’s Day as a day to ‘rededicate ourselves to the cause of patients and society at large’. The day was being celebrated to mark the birth and death anniversary of legendary physician Dr.BIdhan Chandra Roy. He said Dr.Chittipantulu, who was his teacher in AMC had taught him not only medicine but also the philosophy of medicine an how to deal with patients and gain their confidence.

Dr.Sadasiva Ro, student of 1951 batch of AMC had cared a niche for himself a general practitioner in the city. He was so popular tht people used to refer to the place where his clinic was located as ‘Dr.Sadasiva Rao Street’.

Dr.Chittipantulu underlined the need for doctors to communicate with their patients and earn their trust to attain success in their profession. Dr.Sadasiva Rao told to the medical students to be the way they want to be.
