Fishing harbour will be developed at a cost of Rs.40 crore

AP HRD Minsiter Ganta Srinivasa Rao today laid the foundation stone for modern fish market at the harbour at a cost of Rs.2.75 crore and inaugurated a solar hybrid dry fish storage godown and chilled unit.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that Vizagpatnam Fishing Harbour would be modernized with world class facilities by spending Rs.40 crore that was promised the Central government.

The Minister said that Rs.82.5 lakh would be granted under the Special Development Package for the fish market, Rs.1.10 crore by Fisheries Department and Rs.75 lakh by Tata Trusts. The market will have 120 stalls with parking space. The godown and chilled unit built under SDP and a grant of Rs.12.5 lakh by the Centre under Blue Revolution Scheme will be boon to dry fisherwomen
