Phase I of the Oorja-Central Armed Police Force under 19 Football Talent Hund Tournament will begin on May 1.

CISF is organizing the championship in association with the State government, AP Football Association and other organizations. The winners from among the boys and girls will go to the second phase at Bengaluru in June/July.

The Inspector General of CISF South sector Anand Mohan said the tournament was being organized ahead of FIFA under 17 World Cup to be hosted in the country in October and as a part of Mission XI Million to create awareness about football among school children and parents.

A total of 32 matches would be played from May 1 to 10. The opening ceremony will be held at East Coast Railway Sports Stadium on May 1. This event will be participated by Union Minister for Civil Aviation P.Ashok Gajapathi Raju and other dignitaries.

The IG said that 16 teams – eight each for boys and girls would participate. Two teams each will be from Kendriya Vidyalayas, one boys team will be from Navy Children School, two teams each from School Games Federation of India, AP and AP Football Association will participate.

The winner and runner up teams would get Rs.50,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively and the hardliner team Rs.20,000. District Collector Pravin Kumar released the games logo and the song.
