Former AU VC GSN Raju denies charges of malpractices

Former Vice Chancellor of Andhra University GSN Raju today denied allegations of malpractices levelled against him.

Raju said that all his actions and decisions taken when he was the Vice Chancellor of Andhra University were only intended to enhance the prestige of the university and to further its image in the best possible manner within the limited resources. He who is now Vice Chancellor of Centurion University speaking to pressmen said that he had not exceeded his powers and denied media reports.

On the temporary appointments or hiring staff on contract basis, he said the decision was taken to improve the functioning of the university. There may be certain minor procedural variation but there were no irregularities in such appointments. On the irregularities in Ph.D programme, he said he had not violated any rules and regulations in making these admissions or filling posts in the AU College of Engineering. He said a vilification campaign was launched against him by certain sections to mar his image.
