Government decides to offer Rs.2.5 lakhs for medical specialists

Principal Secretary, Health Poonam Malakondaiah said that the government has decided to pay Rs.2.5 lakh to specialists willing to work in the Agency apart from providing free accommodation.

The Principal Secretary rushed to Paderu along with the District Collector Pravin Kumar and ITDA Project Officer Ravi Pattanshetti and visited the community hospital on Wednesday morning where she interacted with patients undergoing treatment for fevers. ‘ We are taking preventive measures in the Tribal areas, she said to media after inspecting the Paderu hospital.

Efforts are o to fill all vacant posts in the community hospitals, PHCs and sub-centres. As it is getting difficult to get specialists in the field of gynecology, dermatology, anesthesia, among others, the government announced an enhanced salary of Rs.2.5 lakh and free accommodation. In addition, recruitment would be taken up through the District Selection Committees, she said. Two lakh mosquito nets would be distributed in the tribal villages. The government would spent Rs.101 crore to augment drinking water supply to tribals.
