HRD Minister inaugurates ‘Digital Anganwadi’ centre

AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao today inaugurated a ‘digital anganwadi centre’ a first in the State, at Nerellavalasa village in Bheemunipatnam constituency.

Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has provided Rs.3 lakh for construction of building and setting up a pre-school. He said that TANA had already contributed Rs.3 crore and was prepared to extend another Rs.2 crore. Of the Rs.3 crore spent so far, Rs.1 crore was allocated to Visakhapatnam district alone. The amount was being spent on construction of 7,000 anganwadi centres and setting up of pre-school digital classrooms. He said that burial ground would also be developed.

TANA AP special representative Komati Jayaram said the association had extended financial assistance to set up digital class rooms in 22,000 schools in the State and would contribute to digital classrooms in another 800 schools besides extending an additional Rs.2 crore for construction of 7,000 anganwadi buildings, pre-school digital classrooms and improvement of amenities at burial grounds.
