IT Minister launches ‘Screening on wheels’

Minister for IT and Communications and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh today inaugurated the state-of-the-art ‘Screening on Wheels’ vehicle of Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute.

Surgical oncologist Murali Krishna Voonna said that it is meant for Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring States of Odisha and Chattisgarh. The comprehensive and state-of-the-art mobile screening vehicle hosts a full set of screening diagnostics like mammography, ultrasound, X-ray, Pap smear, Colposcopy, biochemical and hematological blood analysis, pulmonary function tests and ECG and connected to the main hospital through telemedicine facility through high speed internet connection.
