An unsigned and undated letter purportedly written by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao to the Chief Minister complaining against the Minister for R&B Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu for indulging anti-party activities created a flutter.

A letter was reportedly written by Ganta Srinivasa Rao saying that Ayyanna Patrudu had triggered a controversy by making an allegation at a media conference recently of a huge land scam in Visakhapatnam district with the involvement of the ruling party leaders. The letter said that the allegation had tarnished the image of the government and the party and the collective efforts to develop the city had taken a huge hit.

The letter written on Srinivasa Rao’s letterhead said that Ayyanna Patrudu had earlier also levelled such allegations against the party colleagues relating to the Visakha Utsav, and pooling and Chandranna Sankranti gifts. He reportedly urged the Chief Minister to order a CBI or CB-CID probe or at least initiate an independent judicial probe by a serving judge to clear the air and restore the image of the party and the government.

It may be recalled that Ayyanna Patrudu a few days ago at a media conference had mentioned it saying the police were reluctant to book cases as influential persons from the ruling party were involved. It made matters worse and the Opposition parties had since then been gunning for the government and the ruling party leaders.

However, there is no confirmation from the HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao whether or not he has written it.
