Major survey to correct land records

Joint Collector G.Srijana admitting that the records have been tampered to benefit the land grabbers and also some records were missing has said that major survey had already been taken up in Kommadi and would be completed in the next week.

The district administration has initiated a major survey to correct all land records and has given a time frame of six months for its completion. The Joint Collector said that in the next phase, the administration will take up Madhurawada area and added that special teams have been formed to collect the data. She said that the initial focus would be on the 10 mandals of Visakhapatnam division.

According to District Collector nearly 16,735 Field measurement Books out of 2,45,896; 233 out of 3022 Rough village map and 379 out of 2022 Resurvey settlement registers have gone missing. The Joint Collector Srijana said that the missing details will be verified and fresh filed measurements entered. The basic challenge is to ascertain the details of such as the link documents of all land from 1956 for settlement fair adangal which pertains to estate villages, and from 1920 for resurvey settlement register. Once, we can establish link, the land that has been acquired by the government or given to other departments and land that has been occupied will be ascertained, she said.

It may be recalled that Minister Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu alleged ‘Land grabbing – 5000 to 6000 acres of land under encroachment’, says Ayyanna Patrudu .


YSRCP demands a CBI probe::

YSRCP district president Gudivada Amarnath Reddy alleged that the missing of documents pertaining to thousands of acres of land valued at Rs.25,000 crore ould not have been happened without the involvement of government officials. He alleged that the government is trying to wash its hands by ordering a routine inquiry into the biggest scam and demanded CBI probe. He said that how the government could sit in judgement over the scam when it was also party to it. The two Tehsildars who were suspended could not alone be held responsible for a scam involving over 5,000 acres of land.
