Medical devices testing lab comes up in MedTech Zone

Jitendra Kumar Sharma, CEO of Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone said that the Medical Devices Park that is coming up in the district will have about 3300 medical devices manufacturing units.

He signed an MoU between the State government and TUV Rehinland (India) Private Ltd., today.

Thomas Fuhrmann, CEO and MD of TUV Rehinland (India) Private Limited said that there is immense potential for import substitution, and at a later stage for exports also of medical devices are being imported at present. TUV will be setting up a medical devices testing lab in the Medical Devices Park that is coming up in an extent of 270 acres.

Vice president of the company Kalyan Verma said that availability of world class testing facilities within Medical Devices Park will make it easier for the manufacturers to improve quality. The lab would be ready by next year.
