NAD flyover awaits nod from Railways

The proposed rotary flyover at NAD junction for which the foundation, for which the foundation stone was laid by the Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu in October last year, is awaiting final negotiation with the East Coast Railway.

Vice Chairman of VUDA P.Basant Kumar said that a rail over bridge was necessary at the location to facilitate the construction of the flyover. The railways have demanded alternative land or value of the land which is coming around Rs.8 to Rs.9 crore and it is not included in the budged sanction. ‘We are negotiating with the railways to build the Rail over Bridge in the interest of public and are awaiting final nod’, he said.

The marking for the flyover is completed and the design has been sent to Prof.N.V.Ramana Rao of NIT-Warangal for final vetting. Once, the railways come out with a decision and the design is vetted, the construction will begin, as the mobilization advance has already been sanctioned, he said. Rs.113 crore, ‘Double Rotary Intersection is said to be the first of its kind in the country and it will have one-level for light motor vehicle and another for heavy vehicles including buses and a pedestrian way to enable seamless flow of traffic.
