One killed and one injured in Divis Lab yard blast

One worker died and another sustained serious burn injuries in an explosion at the dumping yard of Divis Laboratories in Chippada of Bheemunipatnam mandal today.

According to sources, the incident took place while egregting plastic from other materials. An accidental fire coming in contact with drums containing unused vapours might have resulted in the blast.

The deceased was identified as P.Polayya of Vizianagaram and the injured was rushed to a corporate hospital.

CPI (M) district secretary K.Lokanadham came down heavily on the management for frequent accidents and demanded stern action against those responsible. He sought a compensation of Rs.50 lakh and permanent job to one of the members of the deceased.
