TDP Mahanadu – good turnout expected while police make arrangements

The three-day Telugu Desam Party’s Mahanadu to be held from May 27 at the AU Engineering College Grounds, TDP top leaders expect that over 35,000 party leaders from various levels are expected to participate.

Accommodation Committee chairman and HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said while invitations had been sent to the 26,500 persons an additional 10,000 were expected to participate. A total of 14 committees have been formed for the conduct of the Mahanadu. He said that the Chef Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will arrive here by May 27 morning and reach the venue directly for the inaugural.

On May 28, the birth anniversary of party founder NT Rama Rao, he will participate in the programmes at the new party office at Ramnagar. The party will discuss development works and projects taken up during the past three years, investments, agriculture, Polavaram Project, special category status vis-à-vis special package etc.,

Traffic police to gear up to the occasion::

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police K.Mahendra Patrudu giving details of the traffic management said to keep general public from using the roads leading to the venue, we will be closing the road from III Town Police Station to Maddilapalem and it will open only for the pass holders. ‘And as advisory we request the people not use the road from Siripuram to Peda Waltair and from Rama Talkie to Maddilapalem for the three days, he said. Police will divert the vehicles of party leaders and cadre coming people from Vizianagaram and Srikakulam at Hanumanthavaka and vehicles coming from Anakapalle will have to take the CR Reddy statue rod and move to the venue via the Collector’s camp office. Parking has been arranged at the south campus of the university, VVIP parking is arranged behind the engineering college hostels, he said.

Eight towing vehicles and a crane will be pressed into service, 30 body cameras will be given to police officers and 200 communication sets have been requisitioned. About 200 stoppers will be put into use and each team will be given megaphones and public address system will be installed at all vital points.
