Three schools get Swachh Vidyalay awards in the district

Three schools in the district secured the national-level Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar-2016-17.

The Schools are GVMC High School, Madhuranagara, Mandal Parishad Primary Schools in Dibbapalem village, Anakapalle Mandal and Kesavaram, Payakaraopeta Mandal. These schools rated as ‘very good’ for the Puraskar.

Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan emerged as top three winners out of 2.68 lakh schools that have applied for the awards. Andhra Pradesh received 21 Swachh Vidyalaya awards, Telangana got 14 awards.

After receiving the award that includes a certificate and a cheque for Rs.50,000 in New Delhi, headmaster of GVMC High School, Madhuranagar Y.Krishna said surprise visits have been made to schools by the award committee members. The registration for the award was done through Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar mobile app. Apart from surprise visits made to schools, the facilities on the campuses are monitored through the app by forwarding the details with photographs.
