IGNOU admissions

Indira Gandhi National Open University has opened its admissions to its July 2017 session for Masters, degree, PG diploma, and diploma programmes. Candidates residing in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts and Yanam district of Puducherry can apply.

Group I main examinations from tomorrow

The APPSC will be conducting the main examinations for 78 Group I posts from Thursday August 17 to 28. In a statement by Commission’s secretary YVST Sai said that the examinations would be conducted in six sessions at 11 venues from 10am to 1pm in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Anantapur.

Talk on travel photography

Visakha Camera Club, in association with Rotary Club, Visakhapatnam is organizing a talk on Friday by Capt.Suresh Sharma from Chandigarh on his very different genre of travel photography, using his specially designed vehicle called that ‘Tarus’ to travel and photograph exotic, unexplored locations. The talk will be held at Hawa Mahal on the Beach Road from 5.30pm onwards.

Andhra University bags three research projects

The Department of Meteorology and Oceanography, Andhra University bagged three research projects worth Rs.1 core. Principal Investigator KVSR Prasad said the three projects from Space Applications Centre, Naval Research Board have societal importance. The first project focuses on coastal waters, the second one is on the NASA and the third one is on the sound propagation of the shallow regions of oceans.

Fuel outlet on Beach Road

A fuel outlet of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., has been opened near Appu Ghar on the Beach Road. It was inaugurated by IOCL Executive Director Rahul Bhardwaj. CGM D.V.Ramana Rao and DIG of Coastal Police A.S.Khan were present.

Swachhta Pakhwada’ in Waltair division

The Waltair Division of East Coast Railway is observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ a 15-day cleanliness campaign over the Division from August 16 to 31. There will be intensive drives and awareness campaigns by various departments of the division and focus will be given to cleanliness at railway stations, in trains, railway premises, offices and colonies. A specific name has been given to each day of the fortnight with a specific purpose.
