City student excel in gymnastics
D.Mohan Kumar and K.Satya Sai Kumar from B.A. first year of Dr.L.Bullayya College have bagged silver and bronze medal in the State inter-district Gymnastics Championship for the year 2017.
Hackathon on Saturday
Girls in Tech Foundation in association with APSCHE and US Consulate, Hyderabad and supported by IBM and Wave labs will be organizing 48 hour hackathon for women in the city on Saturday. The hackathon will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of Science and Technology Sujana Choudhary in the presence of HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at Green Park Hotel at 9am.
Collector inaugurates park
District Collector Pravin Kumar today inaugurated a park developed at a cost of Rs.10 lakh on the Collectorate premises. The park was developed with the cooperation of GVMC and VUDA.
Counselling for diploma courses
The second phase of counselling for admission to evening diploma courses in Soft Skills, Spanish, Japanese, French and German will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday at the Directorate of Admissions, Vijayanagar Palace, Peda Waltair.
Collector inspects works at KGH
District Collector Pravin Kumar who is also Chairman of the Hospital Development Society of KGH visited the hospital today. He inspected the works taken up under the CSR project on the hospital premises at a cost of Rs.80 crore.
LLB student held on morphing charge
The Harbour Police arrested G.Vijay Babu (26), a resident of MVP Colony and a student of LLB first year of a private college today for allegedly morphing the picture of a girl in his class after she spurned his marriage proposal. According to police, the victim has approached the police claiming that her classmate has been harassing her since last two months by sending abusive messages. Even after warning him, the boy did not change his attitude and started sending morphed images through WhatsApp and was blackmailing her to marry him after she turned down his proposal. A case was registered under Section 354-D of IPC and Sec.66-C of IT act.
