Water supply sources inspected

All water installations, including filter plants, sources of water supply, water taps for drinking water at stations as well as trains were inspected as part of Swachchata Pakhwada undertaken throughout the Waltair Division. Inspection of all water installations in offices, railway colonies, hospitals, health units and schools was also done.

Swachh campaign at Akkayyapalem= Swachh Bharat ambassadors and Municipal Commissioner M.Hari Narayan today morning carried out a door-to-door campaign on Swachh Bharat Survekshan at Jaggarao Bridge at Akkayyapalem. The rally was aimed at creating awareness on the guidelines for Swachh Survekshan 2018 and separating dry and wet waste by residents. The Swachh Bharat ambassadors will meet every first and third Saturday at the park at Sector I of MVP Colony and discuss Swachh Visakha programmes.

National award for city artist

Naresh Babu Ayyalasomayajula of the city received the Bharat Gaurav Award organized by the Bharat Gaurav Awards Foundation in the ‘Art’ and Culture’ category at a function organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi recently. He was doing Bachelor of Architecture at JNTU, Hyderabad. The only awardee from South India in the category of Art and Culture, he has contributed to the art form with over 100 charcoal arts till date. He plans to host an annual all India Art exhibition for artists in January 2018.
