Dancing super star’ grand finale held

The grand finale of ‘Dancing super star’ was conducted by Event Houz, an event management company in association with PACE Creators Dance Academy at VUDA Children Arena on Saturday. As many as 13 teams were selected for the finale.

New equipment installed

An operating microscope imaging system, slit lamp imaging system and three Operation Theatre tables installed at the Government Regional Eye hospital were inaugurated by the MP K.Haribabu and MLA P.Vishnu Kumar Raju on Saturday. The equipment costing Rs.15 lakh was purchased with MPLAD Funds of K.Haribabu.

Poster released

State Labour Welfare and Employment Minister Pitani Satyanarayana released a poster on ‘anti-ragging and anti-drugs’ at a programme held on AU Campus. Speaking on the occasion, he said steps were being taken to ensure 5 per cent reservation for the physically challenged with regard to job opportunities in public and private organization in the State.

Violin vidwan passed away

Legendary violin vidwan Sriman Kommanduri Krishnamachari passed away in Hyderabad on Saturday. He is survived by his only one son and two daughters. Born at I. Bhimavaram in West Godavari district on July 7, 1936, Krishnamachari moved to Vizianagaram when he was 11 years old and started learning music tutelage of Dwaram Narasinga Rao Naidu. He served as a casual artiste of AIR at Vijayawada till 1974 and later shift to AIR, Visakhapatnam. He had accompanied several stalwart musicians like Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna, D.K.Patmal, Vasundhara Devi and Arundati Sarkar on the violin during his long career.

Judge directs KGH Superintendent to treat patient who was denied for not having ration card

District Legal Services Authority secretary and senior civil judge S.Damodara Rao on Saturday directed the Superintendent of KGH to provide immediate medical treatment to Chakali Appalaraju (54) a resident of Priyadarshini Old Age Home who as allegedly denied treatment on the ground of not having ration card for Arogyasri treatment. The order was iOS sued after Appalaraju approached the DLSA for treatment. The judge directed the Urban Mandal Revenue Officer to find out status of Appalaraju.

Visakha Ukku Kala Vedika inaugurated

Visakhapatnam MP K.Haribabu today inaugurated Visakha Ukku Kala Vedika – a two-storied multipurpose community hall built at a cost of Rs.1.5 crore under CSR funds of RINL. The hall will be useful for residents of Gangavaram. Speaking on the occasion, he commended the management of RINL for providing various amenities in the rehabilitation colonies. RINL CMD P.Madhusudan observed that RINL was laying emphasis on providing facilities to the needy people in and around the city.
