Meet on GST

An outreach programme on GST for oil sector stakeholders was conducted here with the coordination of HPCL on Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by K.Nagendra, Joint Commissioner, State Taxes, Andhra Pradesh. Executive Director of Visakha Refinery Modernization Programme S.Raja mentioned that the GST as good and simple tax for the growth of the nation.

Samplings planted

Andhra University Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao on Thursday planted saplings on the campus of Andhra University Hostel for Women. He told the students and employees of the varsity to participate in a number of green initiatives and take the lead in converting the university into a green campus.

Workshop on IoT

To create awareness on Internet of Things and the future it holds, Raghu Institute of Technology organized a workshop on Thursday. K.Raghu, Chairman of the institutions addressed the students and encouraged them to equip themselves with technical skills. Award for vocalist Ragavan Manian

Carnatic vocalist Ragavan Manian was awarded the ‘Balamuralikrishna Endowment Award’ by Visakha Music Academy on Thursday. Manian, a disciple of Balamuralikrishna is also proficient in playing the saxophone, violin and Hindustani Basuri. He later gave a performance.

Gopala Rao takes over as VSP director

Varanasi Venkata Venu Gopala Rao took over as director (Finance) of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. A chartered accountant by profession, Venu Gopala Rao served as the Director (Finance) of Hindustan Copper Ltd., before joining the RINL. He also served as director (Finance) in Braithwait and Co., ltd., a PSU under the Ministry of Railways. He worked in various capacities at Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL from 1991-2010.
