DRM checks amenities at the railway station

Divisional Railway Manager Mukul Saran Mathur inspected Visakhapatnam Railway Station today and checked the amenities available. He instructed the station authorities to keep a tab on the cleanliness and other passenger related amenities at the railway station. He also monitored the punctuality drive.

Award to Paaranandi Nirmala

Writer and translator Paaranandi Nirmala has been selected for the Geetha Devi Goneka Anuvad Puraskar. The award instituted by Kamala Goneka Foundation, Bengaluru will be presented to the writer in Hyderabad on August 5. The award comprises a cash prize of Rs.31,000 and a citation.

Prasad Babu appointed faculty chairman of AUCE

M.S.Prasada Babu has been appointed faculty chairman of Andhra University College of Engineering. He is presently working as Vice-Principal of AU College of Engineering.

Workshop for spinal cord injury victims begins

A free two-day free checkup camp and workshop for persons with spinal cord injuries commenced at the research centre of The Ability People at Dabagardens today. The workshop was inaugurated by MP K. Haribabu. Over 75 students of physiotherapy and victims of spinal cord injuries form Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts participated. Free food would be provided to the patient and an attended at the two-day camp.
