Calipers distributed

The Ability People distributed calipers, artificial limbs and tri-cycles to 10 differently abled individuals at the centre on Saturday. President of the centre Surya Prakash Rao and secretary Dileep Patro said the centre supports spinal cord injury victims, cerebral palsy and polio afflicted individuals and road accident victims.

Container slipped off from the trailer and crashed resulting one dead

One person crushed to death and another sustained serious injury when a huge container slipped off from the trailer that crashed into high tension electric police due to break failure. The incident took place at NAD junction today. The deceased was identified as KS Sadeea Hijra (38) of Dharmanagar, Kancharapalem. ACP (North Division) V.Bhima Rao said that the heavy vehicle carrying container with frozen shrimps was heading to Bhimavaram. Commuters had a lucky escape.

Focus on infection control

A ‘National Forum and workshop on Infection Control -2017’ was organized by Apollo Hospitals in association with IMA today. In all, around 150 delegates various States attended. A total of 20 specialists gave presentation on various aspects of infection control.

AU to organize AP Science Congress

Andhra University will organize the AP Science Congress – 2017. The third AP Science Congress will be held from November 7 to 9. AU Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao today released the brochure at AU Senate Hall. The meet will be held under the name ‘Green Technology for Transformation’, he said. Three awards viz. Sir CV Raman, Madam Query, Acharya NG Ranga will be presented. Over 2,000 participants across the country will attend.
