Four Maoists surrender

A group of four Maoists surrendered before the Visakhapatnam police today. According to police, they were surrendered due to ill health. The surrendered Maoists were identified as Kora Chellamma alias Amrutha who carries a reward of Rs.1 lakh on her head. The others included were Pangi Ramana, Pangi Raja Rao and Tambelu Dasu all are from Koyyuru mandal.

DYFI call to diploma holders

The Greater Visakhapatnam City Committee of DYFI will hold a meeting with Metallurgy Diploma holders seeking employment in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to discuss their problems at the Gandhi Statue near GVMC at 3pm on Sunday. DYFC secretary V.Krishna Rao said that it had been organizing struggles since last year demanding provision of employment to Metallurgy diploma holders in the VSP. A notification would be issued by the VSP during the next few days, he said.

Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital formation day celebrated

Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital has celebrated its 20th Formation Day at its main hospital in Naiduthota on Friday. Managing Trustee K.Manimala appreciated the services of doctors that helped in the growth of the hospital. Executive trustee A.Vijay Kumar inaugurated the programme.

Special menu for Ramzan

Hotel Green Park has introduced a special takeaway menu for the month of Ramzan. The menu includes Hyderabad biryani, ‘Khubani’ and ‘double ka meetha’ and ‘haleem’. The moth highlight, Hyderabad Haleem will be available at the hotel from 6pm to 10 pm till June 27.

City students excel in CBSE 10th class results

City students came out with flying colours at the 10th class results of Central Board of Secondary Education schools that were declared on Saturday. Sri Prakash Vidyanitkethan achieved cent percent results with 168 students scoring 10 out of 10 cumulative grade point average and 78 per cent of students 9 and above CPGA. While Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar cornered glory with 50 students out of a total of 164 students scoring 10 out of 10 CGPA rating and 76 students scoring 9 and above CGPA.
