ACB conduct raids on the residences of Tehsildar Sankara Rao

The officials of ACB conducted raids on the residences of Tehsildar Sankara Rao at four places. The officials also conducted raids on the residences of the officials’ relatives in Vizianagaram and Bobbili. They have registered a case of disproportionate assets against Sankara Rao. Earlier, Sankara Rao worked as Tehsildar in Visakhapatnam Rural. Sankara Rao is still absconding.

Land scam- Ganta Srinivasa Rao orders to register criminal cases

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has ordered the officials to register criminal cases against the officials or anyone responsible for the land scam. Speaking at a review meeting here on Monday, the minister asked the district collector to prepare a comprehensive report on the scam and it will be placed before chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday. The Minister asked the district officials to provide helpline number and also conduct surveillance of lands through drone cameras, geo-fencing. He also instructed the registration department to stop registration of concerned land. All the private land details should also be put in the website, he instructed.

Kuchipudi summer camp concludes

A month long Kuchipudi summer camp conducted by D.S.K.Sannidha at Kshatriya Samkshema Samithi’s Kalyana Mandapam ended today with dance performances of the participants. The workshop was attended by participants in the age group of three to 24 years.

Patra India wins overall championship

Patra India has won the overall championship of sports meet conducted by Visakhapatnam chapter of ITAAP. Patra India was also winners in cricket. Among others, HSBC, WNS, Concentrix and IBM participated. Employees of Patra India took part in athletics, throw ball, carom, shuttle and volleyball.

INTUC youth wing meet

INTUC leaders K.S.Murty and Mohan Kumar addressed the members of Intuc youth wing on Monday and called for the need to strengthen it. INTUC district general secretary Naga Bhushanam. Restoration of old pension scheme demanded

Employees of various government departments, teachers and pensioners on Tuesday went a dharna under the banner of Joint Action Committee at the NGO Home demanding among other things, restoration of old pension scheme and regularization of contract workers. Leaders of teachers’ associations alleged attempts to corporatize education and closing down schools in the name of rationalization.

Three city students get global rank in Olympiad

Three students from the city came out with flying colours by garnering international rank in the Science Olympiad Foundation. In International English Olympiad, the international rank 2 was bagged by Kshitij Razdan of Class 12 who was awarded with a silver medal and Rs.25,000 cash prize. In the International Mathematical Olympiad, CKVR Hemanth Kumar of Class II from Sri Chaitanya Junior College bagged the international rank 3 along with a bronze medal and Rs.10,000 cash prize. Satish Kumar of class 10, Navy Children School, secured the international rank 3 in the international Sports Knowledge and bagged a bronze medal and cash award of Rs.10,000.

Uniforms distributed to students who underwent training in skill development

Participating in the fifth day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha on 'HRD, attracting investments, employment and skill development', at Andhra University Dr.YVS Murthy Auditorium today, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said cycles were being given to girl students to promote education. Digital classrooms, model schools and English medium classes were aimed at toning up education for the poorer sections, particularly in rural areas. He gave away books and uniforms to students and youth who got training in skill development under National Academy of Construction.
