Multi organ surgery performed

A multi-organ resection surgery was successfully performed at HCG Pinnacle Cancer centre. Consultant, surgical oncology, Raghu Vamsi N said the patient Satya Rao (47) from Rajam complaints in the left upper abdomen and back pain for three months with occasional bleeding from the rectum. He was diagnosed with cancer of the colon, involving pancreas, spleen and left kidney and was advised a multi organ resection procedure that involved the removal of tumor along with distal half of pancreas, spleen, left kidney and left side colon. The whole team of HCG Pinnacle, including the support staff was involved in the post-operative care. He said that the patient is coping well with the chemotherapy regimen.

Nurses Day celebrated

Nursing students of GITAM School of Nursing celebrated International Nurses Day to mark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale on Friday. Tonsure case – First phase of tribal concludes

The five-day trial in the Ramachandrapuram tonsure case that began in the SC/ST Special Court (Prevention of Atrocities), Visakhapatnam concluded here today. About 11 witnesses, including two investigating officers were examined and cross-examined during the period. The second phase of the trial was scheduled for June 2 to 6 when the defence examination would begin.

SBI donates Rs.7 lakh to cancer hospital

CGM of SBI (Amaravati Circle) Mani Palvesan presented a cheque for Rs.7 lakh to Director of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre D.Raghunadha Rao for building an air-conditioned hall for patients. The funds were disbursed under the CSR activity. The State government has given 77 acres to the hospital in 2009 at Vadlapudi in the district and the project would be completed by next year. Clinical and diagnostic services were being extended since 2014.
