Clean blankets programme

Sewage treatment plant inaugurated

The sewage treatment plant built by HPCL Visakha Refinery at a cost of Rs.40 lakh with a capacity of 25 kilo liters per day was inaugurated by the AP Pollution Control Board Environment Engineer R.Laxmi Narayana today.

Three accused in gang rape arrested

Three of the eight accused in the alleged gang-rape of two minor tribal girls were arrested and sent to remand on Thursday by the Chintapalli police. The arrested were identified as K.Varun, Ch. Balakrishna and M.Prasad. Another accused L.Nagendra reportedly surrendered before the police on Thursday according to DSP of Chintapalli Anil Kumar. The search is on for the other accused. Cases were booked under IPC Section 376 AND (d), 354, 341 and Section 6 of POCSO Act.

Celebrate NTR Jayanti as artistes’ day

Former Minister Dadi Veerabhadra Rao has urged the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to celebrate TDP founder NTR’s birth anniversary as artists’ day. He said that his last birth day in 1995 was officially celebrated as artistes’ day.
