Kamineni Srinivas directs to supply kits

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas today expressing serious concern over the shortage of swine flu testing kits in Andhra Medical College has directed to the authorities to supply sufficient number of kits to all the districts. New vaccine had arrived to protect from more number of viruses, he said.

GKD Prasad wings Golden Nandi

A post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Journalisam and Mass Communication of Andhra University, G.K.D.Prasad has bagged a ‘Golden Nandi’ as art director in the ‘college boys’ category. Students of St.Theresa College, Eluru presented the play ‘Sambhavami’ penned by Mahendra Chakravarthi, a former student of Theatre Arts Department of Andhra University in 2016. Prasad is the director of the play and bagged the Nandi Award from the State government.

MP Haribabu pats GVMC staff for ranking

Lok Sabha MP K.Haribabu gave credit to municipal officials, staff and workers for the city getting selected as the third cleanest in the country in Swachh Survekshan-2017 in which 434 cities competed. At a programme, he felicitated Additional Commissioner (General) GVVS Murty and others.

Thanks for wearing seat belt’, says police

Motorists driving cars were taken a pleasant surprise when they were stopped by the police and greeted them at various junctions in the city for wearing seatbelts. Those who did not wear seat belt were shown placards asking them to comply with the rule without the prospect of having to pay a penalty. The City Police posted 24 teams at many places from 4pm to 7pm on Saturday for the ‘seat belt awareness drive’. The Transport Department also conducted awareness drives along with the city police.

Photography workshop

Dolphin Photography Association is organizing a 23 days summer workshop from May 8 at Ganapathi School of Photography, Pendurthy junction.
