Visakhapatnam:: The following will be the prices for petrol and diesel on Monday. BPCL petrol Rs.71.24 per litre while diesel Rs.61.52, HPCL petro Rs.71.26 while diesel Rs.61.55 and IOL petrol is Rs.71.24 while diesel is Rs.61.52.

Dr.Sudharani presented with Pratibha Puraskar

Visakhapatnam:: Noted ophthalmologist Sudharani of Tirupati was presented with the ‘Pratibha Puraskar’ of the Delhi Telugu Academy and Little Musicians Academy at a function organized on Sunday. The award was presented to her by the Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao and film actor Gollapudi Maruthi Rao. The Puraskar was given to her in recognition of her yeomen services to poor patients. She also set up a trust in memory of her father and is providing free eye tests and drugs to senior citizens free of cost on second Saturdays of every month.

Two arrested on charges of cricket betting

The City Task Force team led by ACP I.Chittibabu busted two major gangs including a two member gang late on Saturday night. The arrested were V.Venkata Siva Hemanth (30)and N.Bujji Raju (30). They seized one multi-level communicator equipment box with 21 betting line mobile phones, one laptop, one LED TV and other allied equipment and Rs.1.74 lakh in cash.

Uttarandhra Saguneeti Projectala Sadhana Samiti to visit Purushottapatnam

Members of ‘Uttarandhra Saguneeti Projectala Sadhana Samiti’ will visit work on Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation scheme in Seetanagaram mandal in East Godavari on Tuesday. They will also visit Yeleru lift irrigation and reservoir at Krishnavaram. The team comprises former Minister Konathala Ramakrishna, Irrigation Advisor to the government and former Chief Engineer S.Satyanarayana, former MLA Dronamraju Srinivas, CPI State assistant secretary J.V.Satyanarayana Murty and CPI(M) district secretary K.Lokanadham.

Brandix plea

Brandix India Apparel City-Atchutapuram on Sunday asked Visakha North MLA and Central Minimum Wages Fixation Committee member P.Vishnu Kumar Raju to finalize minimum wages for its workers. Brandix India partner Dora Swamy urged him to initiate the follow-up process to benefit all deserving employees. It is currently paying more than the current minimum wages, he said.
