Fuel prices

The following will be the prices for petrol and diesel on Wednesday. BPCL petrol Rs.71.02 per litre while Rs.61.37 diesel, HPCL petro Rs.71.05 while diesel Rs.61.39 and IOL petrol Rs.71.02 while diesel Rs.61.37.

Nrusimha Jayanti celebrated

Special homam, puja and bhajans mark Nrusimha Jayanti celebrations organized by Hare Krishna Movement at Sri Panduranga Swami temple today. About 400 devotes participated in the rituals held at the venue. The temple reverberated with bhajan and mangala arati was performed.

Last date extended

Andhra University in a press release said that the last date for the submission of online applications for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibly Test-2017 has been extended up to May 17. Candidates can apply up to May 24 with a late fee of Rs.1,000 and up to June 3 with a late fee of Rs.2,000 and up to June 21 with a late fee of Rs.5,000. The test will be conducted across the country on July 30.

Centre gives nod for express corridor

Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman M.T.Krishna Babu said that the Centre had in principle agreed to fund Rs.450 crore for 11.8 km dedicated express cargo corridor proposal from Sheelanagar to Sabbavaram. The port would widen the stretch between Visakha Container Terminal Pvt.Ltd and Port connectivity Road at a cost of Rs.200 crore to prevent congestion.

DMHO remanded till May 22

Kurnool DM&HO Swarajya Lakshmi who was caught by the ACB in disproportionate assets case was remanded till May 22 said Vijayawada ACB DSP SVV Prasad. It may be recalled that she was arrested o Monday and shifted her to Visakhapatnam and produced before the court on Tuesday who sent her for remand. The ACB conducted raids in last December in Kurnool and Visakhapatnam and unearthed over Rs.6 crore worth of assets.
