Centenary celebrations organized
The Youth Services Department organized the centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to mark the National Constitutional and Integration Day at R.C.Reddy Study Circle. KVSS Murty presided over the function as chief guest.
India, Sri Lanka ODI on December 17
The Andhra Cricket Association has fixed the ticket prices ranging from Rs.500 to Rs.6,000 for the third one day international between India and Sri Lanka match to be played in the city on December 17. The match will be played at Dr.YS.Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in the city which has the capacity to accommodate over 27,500 spectators. Tickets in the denomination of Rs.500, Rs.1,200, Rs.1,800, Rs.2,500, Rs.3,000 and Rs.6,000 will be sold online and through cash at counters. Date for commencement of sale of tickets will be announced shortly.
Rally marks International Men’s Day
Members of various NGOs took out a rally on Sunday to mark International Men’s Day. Representatives of Save Family Harmony and Men’s Welfare Ministries organized the procession from VUDA Park to GVMC. They said that the voluntary associations aim at creating awareness on men’s rights, providing counselling and organizing social activities. Members of the NGOs attributed the rise in the suicide rate among divorced men to false cases filed under Section 498A. They urged to the need to spread awareness and demanded a separate ministry for the welfare of men.
