DSP placed under suspension

Dasari Ravi Baby, DSP arrested as prime accused in the murder of rowdy-sheeter Kopperla Satyanarayana Raju alias Gedela Raju last Saturday has been placed under suspension by the Commissioner of Police. As per the rules, an officer has to be suspended after 48 hours of remand, said Commissioner of Police T.Yoganand. Apart from Gedela Raju case, a second murder case has also been booked against him and now he is the prime accused in a double murder case.

RINL to take part in infra creation

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel Ruchika Chaudhry Govil on Wednesday advised the RINL to take advantage by taking active part in construction of highways and other infrastructure. She said that RINL should avail huge infrastructure funding by Union Government in the construction of National Highways, Railways and Housing for increasing the consumption of steel in the country. During her maiden visit to RINL, she held discussions with the top management led by CMD P.Madhusudan.

Saplings planted at AMC men’s hostel

Saplings were planted at the men’s hostel of Andhra Medical College today as part of the ‘Vanam Manam’ progamme. AMC Principal P.V.Sudhakar, Professor of Psychiatry K.Ramireddy who is also warden of the hostel and Nodal Officer of the programme S.Sunita launched the programme by planting samplings. A total of 50 samplings were planted at the hostel.

NECC contests for women and children

The National Egg Coordination Committee will organize special competitions for school students, women and children to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of Indian Poultry Farming Industry B.V.Rao. Announcing this at a media conference today, NECC national executive member Bharanikana Rama Rao said that the objective was to create awareness among general public the importance of egg consumption for health.

Rally on World Polio Day observed

A rally on the occasion of World Polio Day was organized by Rotary Clubs in the city on Tuesday. The rally started from Police Officers Guest House and ended at YMCA. A flash mob was held as part of the awareness programme.

IIM-V hosting business conclave

Several industry leaders will participate in the ‘Conflux 2017’, a business conclave to be hosted by IIM Visakhapatnam at Hotel Novotel on October 28. The topic ‘Analytics as source of business innovation’ was chosen owing to the contemporary nature analytics. Suzuki opens two more show rooms

Suzuki Managing Director Satoshi Uchida inaugurated two showrooms in the city one at Gajuwaka and the other at Muralinagar. He said that the company was also focusing on exports from the country.

Notification issued for filling up of professor posts

The Andhra University has today issued notification for filling up of professor posts. The AU has issued two notifications – in the first phase for filling up of professor posts and another one for backlog posts. In professor wing 19, backlog wing associate professor-9 and assistant professors-4 will be filled up.
