Forum of Legal Professionals hails appointment of Somayajulu as HC judge

Forum of Legal Professionals today hailed the appointment of DVSS Somayajulu, one of the leading advocates from the city as Judge of the High Court of Judicature of AP and Telangana. Forum president Kuppili Muralidhar spoke to Somayajulu and congratulated him on the occasion.

NGT conference-arrangements reviewed

District Collector Pravin Kumar today reviewed the arrangement for the two-day National Green Tribunal conference that will be held at Vizag convention centre, Madhurawada from September 16. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would attend the meet. Senior judges from Supreme Court and Hyderabad High Court will participate in the conference.

Education meet in December

UNESCO and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development and the AP Government will hold Transforming Education conference for Humanity here on December 16 to 18. Over 250 delegates from 71 countries, Ministers from nine countries and 50 envoys were expected to participate said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

498 students donate blood

As many as 498 students of Raghu Educational Institutions donated blood to mark the birthday of the Institution’s chairman Kalidindi Raghu. The 498 units of blood donated by the students were handed over to Lions Club, Red Cross and Government Blood Banks.

15 days Swachh drive concludes at IIM-V

The 15 day Swacch Pakhwada drive concluded at IIM-Visakhapatnam with a guest lecture by Dr.V.S.R.K.Pasad, Director of IIPE, Visakhapatnam. He spoke about the importance and the positive impact of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Outlining the harmful implications and how Swachh Bharat can be handy in overcoming them, he stressed on how one step towards the cleanliness gets amplified and translated into results.

Armed Forces medical services DG visits ENC

Lt.General Manoj K.Unni, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services and Sr.Colonel Commandant arrived here on a four-day visit to the Eastern Naval Command. Lt.General Manoj K Unni chaired the 10th JCM meeting of DGAFMS Council held at INHS Kalyani today. Later, he called on Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC and interacted with all medical officers of the command.

Bids for NAD flyover finalized

The tender for construction of flyover at NAD has been finalized after technical and financial evaluation. The tender appraisal committee of MA&UD Department finalized the award of the work. Vijay Nirman Company will be awarded the EPC contract for the flyover estimated to cost Rs.122 crore according to sources. Chief Minister will lay foundation to the flyover during his visit on September 27, 2017.

Mrs.AVN College gets NAAC ‘A’ Grade

Mrs.AVN College was awarded ‘A’ grade in the third cycle of assessment carried out recently by NAAC-Bengaluru. The college had narrowly missed the ‘A’ Grade in the first and second cycle assessment said college correspondent A.V.Adeep Bhanoji Row and Principal Annapurna Ernki said in a statement. Achievement of ‘A’ Grade opens the windows for the college to achieve autonomy and funds from various governmental agencies and industries to achieve further development in future, they said.

Great Britain Debate on September 22

The British Deputy High Commission, Hyderabad is organizing the Great Britain Debate 2017 at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College for Engineering, Kommadi on September 22. British Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Fleming and Political and Economic Advisor Nalini Raghuraman are expected to take part in the event. There is no participation fee and registrations.
