Keel for two tugs laid at HSL

The keel-laying ceremony of two 10-tonne bollard pull tugs-Abhishek and Avatar- out of six being built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited for Indian Navy was performed at a simple function Saturday. The keel for the tugs was laid by senior workmen in the presence of Chairman and MD Rear Admiral L.V.Sarat Babu.

IGIAT course in Industrial safety

Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT) has sought applications for newly introduced one-year certification course in industrial safety. The certificate for the course will be issued by the State Board of Technical Education and Training according to IGIAT director B.Vinod Kumar. B.Sc. (physics or chemistry) diploma or degree holders in any engineering or technology with work experience are eligible to apply.

Ganja crop destroyed

As many as 1.85 lakh ganja plants being cultivated in 37 acres abutting the streams in Kumbidisingi area of G.Madugula mandal and Bodaputtu of Paderu mandal in the Agency were destroyed by the Prohibition and Excise personnel on Saturday. The operation was taken by the department with the help of police and revenue department.
