Foundation stone laid for more rooms at hospital

Visakhapatnam North MLA P.G.V.R.Naidu (Ganababu) today laid the foundation stone for additional rooms at the 30 bed Government Maternity Hospital at Gopalapatnam. The rooms will be constructed at a cost of Rs.49 lakh by AP Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

Medical shop fined for dumping drugs

Municipal Commissioner M.Hari Narayana asked the officials to issue notices and slap fine on a medical shop at Saibaba Street in Dabagardens for dumping expired drugs on the road. The action came when the Commissioner was on a morning visit on Wednesday.

Two workers suffer burns at Naval Dockyard

Two employees suffered chemical burns in an explosion at the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning unit at Naval Dockyard under Malkapuram Police station on Thursday. The injured identified as Charan Chand and Parthasarathy Das were shifting at a corporate hospital and were undergoing treatment. Their condition is said to be out of danger.

CPI(M) alleges move to privatize water supply in the name of smart city development

CPI (M) city secretary B.Ganga Rao in a statement said that the round the clock water supply in Visakhapatnam North and West Assembly constituencies to be taken up with Rs.348 crore loan was proposed to be handed over to a private agency for operation and maintenance. He alleged that the services are being privatized in the name of smart city development.

AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation in association with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology have organized a workshop ‘On boarding of self-organized small and medium business/traders on digital payments initiatives’ on Thursday. Director of NIELIT G.John said that the institute had been assigned the responsibility of organizing 535 workshops and 100 camps to create awareness.

British official visits DCI

British Deputy High Commissioner in Hyderabad Andrew Fleming visited the Dredging Corporation of India on Thursday. CMD of DCI Tripathi briefed him about the dredging activities in the country and abroad. He requested him to extend full cooperation of the Maintenance Dredging Tender for Harwich Haven Port in the UK for which DCI was the only Indian company that was short-listed.
