• Expo on lifestyle products:: ‘D sire’, an exhibition of lifestyle products was inaugurated at Hotel Novotel today. The two-day expo has a wide range of designer wear, home décor and luxury products collection. Over 100 designers are showcasing more than 40,000 custom-made designs in sarees, blouses, lehengas, jewellery, upholstery, handbags, footwear and accessories among other products.

• AMC PG students wings first prize in quiz:: A postgraduate student of the Anaesthesiology Department of Andhra Medical College has bagged laurels at the national level aesthesia conference held at Sri Ram Chandra Medical College in Chennai. Dr.Kaki Rajeswara Rao won first prize in the quiz competition. Dr.P.V.Sudhar, Principal of the AMC congratulated him on his achievement.

• AU course in fire safety:: Andhra Univeristy Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao today launched a three-month certificate course in fire safety in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Speaking on the occasion, the VC said that the university was imparting quality education to employees of the Defence sector.

• Six injured in fire at a tyre factory:: Six workers were injured when a fire broke out at a tyre factory at Rebeka village in Anakapalle mandal today. The incident took place at around 1.30pm when the workers were removing a bolt in a crude oil tanker with the help of welding equipment. According to MRO, four persons were severely injured and suffered 80% burns. The injured were identified as S.Srinivas, auto driver, Kona Madhu helper, four other victims are residents of Gajuwaka area are M.Kumar, K.Srinu, T.Govind and T.Gopi. The seriously injured were shifted to KGH for better treatment.
