YSRCP has today filed a complaint with the CBI against AP Minister for Panchayat Raj and Information Technology Nara Lokesh and a few others accusing them of land grabbing.

Sources said that the CBI has accepted the complaint but asked the YSRCP leaders to get a direction from the High Court or the Supreme Court as the property in question reportedly belongs to the State government. Party district president Gudivada Amarnath who led a delegation said the party would file a public interest litigation in the High Court in the first week of June . According to him, 80 acre land in question is in Dasapalla Hills, a prime and posh area.

Case history:: Rani Kamala Devi in 2000 filed a case against the State government in the Supreme Court claiming that the land belonged to the Dasapalla family. Thereafter in 2011-12, the Supreme Court had given an ex parte decree favoring Kamala Devi as the government failed to file a counter within the stipulated time. In 2015, Kamala Devi had registered about 18 acres in the name of about 50 influential people and realtors. The then District Collector N.Yuvaraj on December 23, 2015 passed an extraordinary gazette notifying all the land under the four survey numbers as government land, despite the then GVMC Commissioner Pravin Kumar omitting the survey numbers from the list of government land.

Gudivada Amarnath raised the question if the land belongs to the government, why are the officials concerned silent when construction activity is going on there? If the land belongs to a private individual, how come the government leased out 2,000 square yards to the TDP office which was recently inaugurated by Lokesh? As per an RTI query, about 2,736 sq yards that was sold to an industrialist belongs to Dasari Appa Rao, a watchman.
