CITU takes up rally seeking minimum wages

A he rally organized under the aegis of CITU was taken out by workers from various sections from Saraswati Park to Gandhi statue today.

They have demanded strict implementation of wages, payment of ESI, PF, bonus and gratuity and payment of equal pay for equal work as per the Apex Court judgement.

They have demanded for a comprehensive law to provide ESI, PF and pension to auto rickshaw, construction workers and other workers in the unorganized sector, withdrawal of G.O.No.279 which was detrimental the interests of workers and the public.

CITU State president Ch.Narasinga Rao said that most of the industries were not implementing the minimum wages an other benefits property to the workers. He said that the government had not revised minimum wages for workers of shops, hospitals, apparel parks, security, petrol bunks and small industries in Industrial Estates.
