The non-holding of examinations for the 2016 batch of D.Ed students for the past 16 months has deprived them of the chance of appearing for TET and DSC examinations according to DYFI district secretary.

The D.Ed students of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram district staged a protest under the aegis of the DYFI and the Students Federation of India at Gandhi Statue near GVMC. Addressing the gathering the DYFI district secretary Srinivasa Rao said that thousands of D.Ed students in the State were beig deprived of a chance to take the DSC examination and compete for teacher posts in view of the delay in holding of the examinations. He demanded the HRD Minister immediately intervene in the matter and order holding of examinations.

He alleged that the government is playing with the lives of the students. He said that the State government has announced the DSC only after State-wide agitations by the DYFI. At a time when unemployed youths were awaiting jobs, the government was not evincing interest in filling the 1.80 lakh posts.
