Special counters for verification centres for AgriGold victims

City police will set up about 35 counters across the city from October 12 for a 20 day to physically verify all the victims who have registered in the CID website, pertaining to AgriGold case. Speaking to media, Joint Commissioner of Police Nagendra Kumar said the total number of victims in the AgriGold deposit scam is around Rs.20 lakhs and about 9 lakhs pertaining to AP have registered with the website. Of them about 65,000 are from Visakhapatnam, he said.

Those who registered in the website have to approach the designated counter on the date specified with the original copies of the bank passbook, Aadhaar Card, original receipt and original bond given by AgriGold. The date and the counter location is hosted in the website. This apart SMA and WhatsApp alert will be sent to the victims. They have to carry a photocopy of the above documents, he said.
