VUDA plans for trial run of heli-tourism from December 7

VUDA Vice-Chairman P.Basanth Kumar said the launch of trial run of heli-tourism was likely to begin on December 7 with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurating it.

He said tat inauguration of TU-142 aircraft museum and renovated Gurajada Kalakshetram are the three projects are on the cards. Pawan Hans will fly the chopper as the one-month permission given by the Naval authorities for trial run will end on December 14.

On the work for construction of fly-over at NAD junction, he said it would be constructed on time. At present, soil-testing is going on. The possibility of starting the work from either side would be examined so as to complete earlier than the scheduled 18 months, he said. Ahmedabad based consultancy would prepare the project report for the new projects atop Kailasagiri. Proposals include second ghat road, sky towers and new cable car route.

VUDA will take up road near Greyhounds Training Centre at a cost of Rs.75 lakh. Forest clearance has been given for the one km Visakha Valley School road and it would be taken up at a cost of Rs.3 crore, he said and added that a km four lane road will be taken up at a cost of Rs.6 crore in Payakaraopet.
