DCI bags Mumbai port contract

Dredging Corporation of India Limited has bagged the contract of ‘maintenance dredging’ of Mumbai Port Trust according to an official press release. The maintenance dredging work for three years form 2017-18. The project involves of around 11 million cum at an estimated cost of Rs.141.06 crore for three years.

Spencer’s launches online delivery

Spencer’s Retail has launched online delivery channel www.spencers.in. The customers can buy products online and the products will be delivered the same day with a window of three hours according to a press release. This facility is available in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, NCR region and now Visakhapatnam.

Selections for sports academies

The State level selection trials for girls for admission into SAAP Sports academies for 2017-18 will be conducted at the District Sports Authority Stadium, Kakinada on August 5 and 6. The selection will be held for gymnastics, judo, weightlifting and athletics. The district level selection trials for Visakhapatnam district was already held on July 17 to 19 and the selected candidates will go for the State level sections according to Visakhapatnam District Sports Development Officer June Gallyot.

GVMC invites JAC for talks

Municipal workers going on indefinite strike will depend upon the outcome of a ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ protest on August 22 demanding cancelling of GO 279 according to P.Venkata Reddy, honorary president of GVMC Contract Workers’ Union.
