IOB disburses Rs.16 core at loan mela
Indian Overseas Bank disbursed around Rs.16 crore at a loan distribution mela organized at its Dwarakanagar branch on Monday. All the 15 city branch managers along with their customers participated in the programme. Chief Regional Manager J.Ram Satyanarayana handed over sanction letters to borrowers of housing, vehicle, personal and other loans.
Kutikuppla Surya Rao appointed as honorary professor
Noted physician Kutikuppla Surya Rao has been appointed honorary national professor of IMA College of General Practitioners in recognition of his academic excellence, social contribution and aptitude for teaching. At a convocation held at Trichy, the appointment was made. He is the only person to get the honour form the two Telugu States.

Narava Prakasa Rao, founder and secretary of Vizag Film Society affiliated to FFSI has been appointed advisory panel member of the Central Board of Film Certification, Hyderabad region by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Stone laid for smart park
MP K.Haribabu, MLA V Ramakrishna Babu and GVMC Commissioner M.Hari Narayanan on Monday laid foundation stone for Children Park at China Waltair. The MP wanted it to be developed as a ‘smart park’. The park will be developed t a cost of Rs.38 lakh in six month.
Global meet on environmental biotech
The Department of Chemical Engineering, AU College of Engineering in association with OMNICS Publishing group will be hosting a three-day international seminar on Environmental Biotechnology EBIO-2017 from November 23. AU Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao said that about 500 delegates including a few scientists from other nations will be attending the seminar.
Old demonetized notes worth Rs.1.91 crore seized and three held
Allipuram: The police have arrested three persons and seized demonetized notes worth rs.1.91 crore. Speaking to media, Joint Police Commissioner D.Nagendra Kumar said that the arrested were identified as Geddam Kalyan Kumar, Gudla Venkata Ramana and Kandiboti Venkata Ramana. He said that they were exchanging old notes with new ones on 20% commission basis. The arrested were remanded.
