Vakapalli case adjourned to December 18

The Vakapalli gang rape case that was scheduled today at the special court in Visakhapatnam that handles cases under the SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, has been adjourned for the third time in the last fifteen days and it will now be heard on December 18. Two of the surviving nine victims out of a total of 11, Pangi Sitayeei and Kora Janakamma were present at the court when the hearing was adjourned. But the charges were framed before the adjournment.

MSME expo

A three-day national vendor development programme cum-industrial exhibition by MSME-Development Institute in association with Visakha Autonagar Small Scale Industries Welfare Association will begin at Autonagar on Wednesday. It would bring buyers and sellers to a common platform.

Four dengue cases reported

Four dengue positive cases have been reported in the district according to DMHO Ramesh. The DMHO directed the medical officers of PHC, Pedagantyada, PHC, Gajuwaka, the District Malaria Officer, Visakhapatnam and the Biologist of GVMC to take up anti-larval and anti-mosquito operations.

Spanish woman adopts girl

A two-year old girl of Specialised Adoption Agency of the Women Welfare and Child Development Department here was given adoption to a Spanish woman Vanessa Christina Sathur on Tuesday. District Collector who handed over the girl said the adoption followed the rules laid down in Central Adoption Resource Centre. The baby was named Baby Sarayu.
