Combing intensified

Security has been beefed up along the AOB and Maoist sensitive areas after eight members of a newly formed extremist group called CPI(ML) Chandra Pullareddy Bata were killed by the security forces of Telangana in an exchange of fire in Bhadradri Kothagudem district in Telangana State. East Godavari SP Vishal Gunni said the place of encounter borders East Godavari district and it is a Maoist sensitive area.

GEM Excellence Meet on Friday

GITAM Institute of Management is organizing a two-day GITAM Excellence Meet ‘GEM2K17’ on Friday and Saturday. Focussing on the theme ‘Today’s dream, tomorrow’s reality’, sky lanterns were released ahead of the meet. Over 100 sky lanterns were floated by students and staff who took part in the celebrations. Over 15,000 delegates, students and academicians are expected to take part in the event.

MP seeks budget for new rail line

Anakapalle MP M.Srinivasa Rao has met the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and submitted a letter requesting him to prioritise the allocation of budget establishing a new railway line from Tuni to Kothavalasa junction. According to his survey, the line was entrusted to Bhoomi Geo Solutions of Hyderabad and the firm had given three alternatives. He stressed upon the fact that alternative one that covers a distance of 145.93 km was economically the most viable option.

HPCL’s gesture to BVK College

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation sanctioned to the tune of Rs.59 lakh in two phases to BVK College on Thursday. In the first phase Rs.39 lakh will be given for construction of toilets and purchase of classroom furniture. In the second phase Rs.20 lakh said Prof.Kandapa Viswanath, Correspondent, BVK College.

PRSI meet

The 39th All India Public Relations Conference is all set to begin on Friday. A three-day conference is being hosted by Public Relations Society of India with the theme ‘Emerging India: Smart cities-Smart Communication’. The conference will be inaugurated at Hotel Novotel by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao in the presence of Minister for Information and Public Relations K.Srinivasulu.
